Course Overview: Welcome to English 9. The aim of this course is to provide the students with opportunities for personal & intellectual growth through speaking, listening, reading, viewing, writing and representing to make meaning of the world via English literature and language. Students will explore different types of both fiction & non-fiction texts including: articles, videos, short stories, poetry, novels and drama. In addition to reading and written responses, they will be expected to participate in class discussions and activities, including projects and presentations delivered both individually as well as in groups.
While we explore various types of texts and genres, we will also be considering the concepts of written form & structure, narrative voice, symbolism, personal values, and interpersonal relationships.
